Luňáček L, Krajča J, Míka D, Krhut J. Ilocoureteral fistula as a cause of life-threatening haematuria. Major statement: This case report presents a patient with a ilicoureteral fistula. Ilicoureteral fistula is a rare cause of hematuria and it was detected by an aortic angiography. In this present case the fistula was resolved by implanting an endovascular stent. This case report presents a case of a 74 year old woman who was monitored in our department with a bilateral hydronephrosis. Her hydronephrosis was caused by a stricture of both ureters after radiotherapy. Due to age, comorbidities, conditions after previous abdominal surgery and radiotherapy, the urinary drainage was dealt with using ureteral stents and nephrostomy. In August 2016, this woman was hospitalized for a urinary tract infection and macroscopic haematuria. After spontaneous regression of haematuria the nephrostomy was exchanged, however it was followed by repeated haematuria. Ilicoureteral fistula was detected by an aortic angiography. Ilicoureteral fistula is a rare cause of haematuria. The main solution for these conditions is endovascular treatment by using endovascular stent grafts.

Keywords: Angiography, fistula, haematuria, ilicoureteral, stent.
