The kidney dystopia and skeletal scintiphotography

Scintiphotography of the skeleton was performed on a 71-year old female patient. The scintiphotograph revealed a suspicious focal lesion in the area of the sacro-iliac articulation. Following this finding a static scintiphotography of the kidneys was performed disclosing a sacral kidney dystopia, causing the falsely positive fin-ding in the initial skeletal scan.
