Chronic inflammations of prostate are crux urologicum. In comparison to other prostatic diseases (benign prostatic hyperplasia, prostatic carcinoma) they require significantly more follow-ups. The cultivation of pathogenic agents is in cca 80 % unsuccessful and only symptomatic treatment is available. Aim of this work is to show the less usual pathogens that can cause the inflammation.
On a case of three men with longtime symptoms we document the diagnostic and treatment options in mycotic prostatitis. The first line drug is fluconazolum.
Mycotic prostatitis is a severe systemic illness. Untreated complicated inflammation influences the life quality and can result in life threatening candidemia.
