The WHO Classification of Urinary and Male Genital Tumours 2022: news in the urinary tract neoplasms classification

The classification of urinary tract neoplasms (so-called blue book) only slightly modifies the last WHO version from 2016. The major change is the modification of the arrangement of the chapters and only minor changes occurred in the nomenclature. The aim of this review is to outline and comment on the changes in the new edition of the WHO classification 2022 of the urinary tract.

The authors present a rare case report of massive bleeding after the replacement of percutaneous nephrostomy drainage tube (PNDT) as part of the management of renal obstruction in retroperitoneal lymphadenopathy. The situation was managed by performing an urgent CT scan that revealed displacement of the drainage tube in the inferior vena cava (IVC) and, subsequently, with a vasography procedure.

In this case report, we present a 48-year-old patient with several comorbidities who was seen under follow at the Department of Urology Motol University Hospital for recurrent bilateral epididymitis followed by rare pampiniform plexus thrombosis. The viral disease COVID-19, which is known to increase the likelihood of thrombophilic conditions, occurred prior to this presentation.
