Hora M, Eret V, Drápelová B, Stránský P, Pitra T, Procházková K, Ferda J, Hes O. Retroperitoneoscopic kidney tumour resection - video. Introduction: Minimally invasive laparoscopic resection (LR) of kidney tumours is already a routine part of the spectrum of surgical treatment of kidney tumours, and it is used in a variety of other methods (open resection > laparoscopic nephrectomy > open nephrectomy). At our clinic, we prefer the transperitoneal laparoscopic approach. In exceptional cases (mostly extensive past abdominal surgery in the abdominal cavity), it is necessary to choose a retroperitoneoscopic (R) approach. It should be noted that the...

Introduction: Indications for ureteral reimplantation (ureterocystoneostomy = UCN) include ureteric strictures of various etiology (due to iatrogenic injuries, endometriosis, post radiotherapy etc.), fistulas from ureter into various organs or ureteral trauma. There are a number of modifications, which can be carried out via open or minimally invasive approach (laparoscopic or robot-assisted). Minimally invasive (MI) approach can achieve a good result with decreased perioperative morbidity in many cases. Aim: Presentation of modification...

Aim: Lower urinary tract symptoms are prevalent in approximately 75% of patients suffering from multiple sclerosis (MS) and have significant impact on their quality of life. There is a lack of evidence in many aspects of diagnostics and treatment of lower urinary tract symptoms in MS patients. The aim of the study was to provide guidelines for urologic diagnostics and treatment based on expert opinion in clinical practice in the Czech Republic. Material and methods: The guidelines were created using the DELPHI methodology. Comprehensive literature search according to PRISMA statement was performed. Based on this search, the first version of the...

Broul M, Schraml J, Štrbavý M, Skála P, Liehne J. Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy: initial experience with the Siemens electromagnetic lithotripter. Objective: On May 5, 2016, a new Siemens Modularis Variostar extracorporeal lithotripter was installed and activated at the Masaryk Hospital´s clinic of urology and robotic surgery. The device uses an electromagnetic generator to create shock waves. This thesis evaluates the efficiency of nephrolithiasis and proximal ureterolithiasis treatment facilitated by the use of such device. Aside from measuring the overall efficiency of the treatment, a comparative approach was applied in order to state the...

Kyrianová A, Šámal V, Šrám J, Mečl J. The use of SUBY G irriagion system in patients with neurogenic lower urinary tract dysfunction and longterm indwelling catheter. Aim: Despite of advanced treatment of neurogenic lower urinary tract dysfunction there is a not inconsiderable group of patients reliant on long-term or permanent urinary diversion using indweling urinary catheter (IC). IC increase the risk of urinary tract infection and infections with urea-splitting strains can cause catheter encrustation and catheter blockage. Preventive measures include frequent changes of IC, treatment of urinary infections and acidification of urine. Methods: In...

Ces Urol 2017, 21(1):80-84 | DOI: 10.48095/cccu2017011

Pírek J, Šámal V, Mečl J. Spontaneous rupture of the urinary bladder: two cases from our department. Major statement: we present two rare cases of spontaneous bladder rupture treated in our departement focusing on diagnosing troubles and therapeutic procedures. Perforation of the urinary bladder is, in most cases, caused by blunt or penetrative trauma, occasionally by iatrogenic trauma. A spontaneous rupture of the urinary bladder is very rare. Due to the rare occurrence this possibility is often omitted in the differential diagnosis. In the literature, its relation with chronic alcohol abuse is quoted. Key to diagnosis are clinical investigations,...
