Hora M, Stránský P, Ürge T, Dolejšová O, Sedláčková H, Pitra T, Trávníček I, Ferda J. Laparoscopic resection of stenosis of ureter - video. Introduction: The development of endoscopic methods and their widespread use in the treatment of urolithiasis increases the risk of ureteric trauma and subsequent ureteral stenosis, which leads to resection or other performance on the ureter. Open surgery with different types of reconstruction (most often resections or re-implantations) are standardized with relatively satisfactory results. Similar techniques are also used for other pathologies, especially for low risk urothelial carcinoma or utereral endometriosis....

Trachta J, Pýchová M, Zeman L, Kříž J. The clinical value of 99mTc-MAG3 renal scintigraphy in the follow-up of patients after pyeloplasty for unilateral pelvic-ureteric junction obstruction. The Aim: To evaluate the clinical benefit of 99mTc-MAG3 study in the follow-up of children who underwent unilateral pyeloplasty and the need of 99mTc-MAG3 routine post-operative performance. Methods: A retrospective analysis of medical records of all patients aged 0 to 18 years who underwent unilateral pyeloplasty for pelvic-ureteric junction (PUJ) obstruction between January 2011 and January 2015 was performed. Included into the study were all patients investigated...

Kudláčková Š, Král M, Kurfürstová D, Záťura F, Hruška F, Hartmann I, Študent V. The role of multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging in active surveillance of prostate cancer. The aim of the study: Evaluation of MRI biopsy results in active surveillance patients and evaluation of the benefit of MRI deployment in the AS protocol. Methods: Sixty-nine patients meeting the Epstein criteria were enrolled in active surveillance since 2009. 30 patients underwent multiparameteric magnetic resonance of the prostate (mp-MRI) during follow-up. The structured scoring system PI-RADS v.2 was used for evaluation. Targeted biopsy of the lesion described as PIRADS...

Luňáček L, Krajča J, Míka D, Krhut J. Ilocoureteral fistula as a cause of life-threatening haematuria. Major statement: This case report presents a patient with a ilicoureteral fistula. Ilicoureteral fistula is a rare cause of hematuria and it was detected by an aortic angiography. In this present case the fistula was resolved by implanting an endovascular stent. This case report presents a case of a 74 year old woman who was monitored in our department with a bilateral hydronephrosis. Her hydronephrosis was caused by a stricture of both ureters after radiotherapy. Due to age, comorbidities, conditions after previous abdominal surgery and radiotherapy,...

Hradec T, Pešl M, Macek P, Zámečník L, Hanuš T. Herniation of the urinary bladder. In two case studies we present patients with inguinal and inguino-scrotal herniation of the urinary bladder. The first patient had inguinal bladder herniation caused by lower urinary tract obstruction due to benign prostate hyperplasia and presented with urinary frequency, urgency and nocturia. The second patient had a rare extensive inguino-scrotal bladder herniation caused by urethral stricture after robot-assisted radical prostatectomy. As presented in the case studies, ultrasound and computed tomography (CT) play an important role in diagnostics of inguinal bladder...

Dukátová K, Zachoval R, Záleský M. Leiomyoma of the urinary bladder as an incidental finding during ultrasonography examination of a pregnant patient. In this article we present a case of a 32 year old pregnant woman with an incidental finding of a leiomyoma of the urinary bladder. After histopathological examination confirmed benign characteristics of the tumor, its surgical excision was performed during elective Caesarian section.

Navrátil P, Novák I, Navrátil P st, Hoffmann P, Kříž P. The significance of MRI in diagnosing penile fracture in a case report of a 16-year-old boy. Penile fracture is the rupture of one or both of the tunica albuginea, the fibrous coverings that envelop the penis's corpora cavernosa. Diagnosis can usually be determined from a patient's history and physical examination, but can be supplemented by a sonographic examination of the penis. In uncertain cases magnetic resonance imaging can be performed, which, if available, can display the defect in the tunica albuginea with high precision.
