Ces Urol 2020, 24(2):90-93
Drlík P, Čermák M. Bulbar urethral reconstruction after extensive inflammatory abscess-forming process in the perineal region due to an underlying foreign body. Introduction: Injuries to the bulbar urethra are often isolated. They account for approximately 10% of lower urinary tract injuries and 35% of all injuries to the urethra. They typically include various non-penetrating straddle injuries (falls astride or kicks). However, injuries due to instrumental manipulation (catheterization, endoscopic procedures) are the most common occurrence. Urethral injury is also encountered in the case of foreign body insertion for the purpose of masturbation. The...

Plachý J, Všetička J, Frydrych J, Srna P. Hand‑assisted laparoscopic adrenalectomy for large adrenal tumors. The aim of this article is to introduce hand‑assisted laparoscopic adrenalectomy as one of the surgical techniques for removing large adrenal tumors which basically combines the advantages of total laparoscopy and open surgery. It is a safe, effective and minimally invasive procedure reducing the number of open conversions. Besides the principles before any surgery, we would like to mention especially the method of operation.

Serial examination of circulating tumor cell presence after renal cancer surgery could become an irreplaceable source of information reporting on tumor heterogeneity and evolution in time. Test for presence of circulating tumor cells belongs to the group of liquid biopsy tests and one of its main advantages is the relatively minimal invasiveness (blood withdrawal), which indeed enables tumor dynamics follow-up. Besides circulating tumor cells the presence in patients with renal cell carcinoma undergoing surgery, molecular character of circulating cells can be evaluated by gene expression analysis.

Šarapatka J, Seifriedová Z, Šmakal O. Our approach to diagnosing and treating impalpable testis. Introduction: The diagnosis and treatment of an impalpable testis remains a controversial issue. The aim of the study was data analysis in boys operated on for an impalpable testis. Material and methods: In a retrospective study, we evaluated the findings in 228 boys who had been operated on for an impalpable testis at the Department of Urology of the Olomouc University Hospital in the years 2017 and 2018. To diagnose cryptorchidism, we perform a physical examination. In patients with a palpable testis, orchidopexy from the inguinal approach is our treatment...

Ces Urol 2020, 24(2):146-151 | DOI: 10.48095/cccu2020013
If it is necessary to convert a urinary diversion to an ileal conduit, it is advantageous to use the material of the ileum from the original diversion and retubularize it to obtain the desired length of the conduit. Further resection of the intestine can be avoided and no new intestinal anastomosis or ureter reimplantation is required.
