Robotic‑assisted resection of a large angiomyolipoma of the left kidney

Ces Urol 2018, 22(4):234-237

Hušek P, Košina J, Pacovský J. Robotic‑assisted resection of a large angiomyolipoma of the left kidney. Introduction: A robotic system is another major step in the development of minimally invasive surgery in the pelvic as well as upper urinary tract regions. In terms of resection procedures of the kidney, it stretches the possibilities of mini‑invasiveness to even where laparoscopy, due to tumour size or position, is no longer feasible or is too risky. What we consider the greatest benefit of a robotic system is the possibility of a safe treatment of the resection bed. This fact gives the courage to relatively safely attempt to perform...

Ces Urol 2018, 22(4):238-241

Študent V ml., Hartmann I, Šarapatka J, Študent V. Robot-assisted dismembered pyeloplasty for ureteropelvic junction obstruction. Introduction: In this video we present our experience with robot-assisted pyeloplasty (RAP). Our first experience with laparoscopic pyeloplasty dates back to 2006. RAP brings several subjective advantages such as 3D vision and greater dexterity of laparoscopic instruments, which facilitates especially the reconstruction phase of the surgery. Material: Between March 2014 and August 2018, we performed 50 RAPs. The first 47 cases were done using 2nd generation DaVinci® S™ system. Now we work with 4th...

Pivovarčíková K, Pitra T, Hora M, Švajdler M, Hes O. Current status of urine cytology: what should the urologist know? Major statement: Review dealing with urine cytology, actual classification system, and basic rules in collection and storage of the urine specimen. Urine cytology is a non-invasive examination, which is used for detection of neoplastic cells in urine. A new classification for reporting urinary cytology was published in 2016 (so called The Paris System for Reporting Urine Cytology). Implementation of The Paris System will lead to global standardization and uniformity of urine cytology reports. It is important to get to know the new...

New options of intravesical instillation therapy in bladder cancer

Brisuda A. New options of intravesical instillation therapy in bladder cancer. New technologies are becoming a point of interest in the treatment of very high risk urinary bladder carcinomas as an alternative to radical cystectomy. They are meant to inhance the effectivity of intravesical chemotherapy as an adjuvant treatment after transurethral resection of non-muscle invasice bladder cancer. Another point is that there is currently long lasting shortage of BCG in the Czech Republic and other countries. We present a review of two technologies using thermic effect and radiofrequency. We present an overview of available evidence and a vision of the future.

Use of multiparametric magnetic resonance and transrectal ultrasound software fusion - guided prostate biopsy not only for significant prostate cancer. The aim: Evaluation of the first results of software fusion - guided prostate biopsies in our workplace using multiparametric magnetic resonance and transrectal ultrasonography. Methods: Overall, 128 patients underwent 3T mpMRI/TRUS fusion software‑based targeted biopsy of prostate from 1/2017 to 3/2018. 22 of them, were biopsy‑naive men with suspicion of prostate cancer. Re‑biopsy were performed...

Belušáková V, Grossová M, Rybánská L, Války J. Andrological factor-the influence of age on the success of assisted reproduction? The study describes a retrospective analysis of spermiogram pathology from assisted reproduction perspective. We analyze the age range of patients undergoing the in vitro fertilization cycle at our workplace over the last 10 years, the effect of age on spermiogram pathology, and the influence of age on the success rate of assisted reproduction cycles. Centres of assisted reproduction are continually trying to increase the success of in vitro fertilization cycles. Attention is now focusing on a more detailed analysis of the...

Correlation of invasive methods and urine cytology in detection of urothelial neoplasms: one centre early experience with application of The Paris System for Reporting Urinary Cytology. Major statement: Original study dealing with urine cytology, comparing urine cytology and results of invasive methods in detection of urothelial carcinoma. Aim: To evaluate the results and influence of new classification (The Paris System for Reporting Urinary Cytology, 2016) on non-invasive urothelial carcinoma (UC) detection. Material and methods: A retrospective review of urine cytology reported from...

Klézl P, Licková K, Šonský J, Fiala A, Nencka P, Grill P. A case report of a patient with a renal carcinoma and metachronously affected bilateral adrenal glands and her contralatral kidney over a period of 16 years. We present a case report of a 64 years old female patient with renal carcinoma and metachronic metastases to the contralateral kidney, subcutaneous tissue and both adrenals glands during a course of 16 years after primary nephrectomy. Renal carcinoma metastases occur after several years most often in the area of the lungs, lymph nodes and the liver. At the time of diagnosis, approximately 25 % of patients have a generalized disease. The...
