Pešl M, Novák K, Macek P, Novák J, Dundr P, Hanuš T. Laparoscopic nephron-sparing surgery in a patient with multiple tumours in a solitary kidney. Aim: To present a video of laparoscopic kidney resection in a patient with multiple tumours of a right sided solitary kidney. Material and methods: Female patient, 63 years of age, after open transperitoneal nephrectomy on the left, histology confirmed clear cell renal carcinoma (pT2b G3). Two new tumours in the right solitary kidney were found during staging CT. The patient was indicated for laparoscopic nephron-sparing surgery. We found another five small tumours during the procedure. PADUA score: 2x,...

The choice of treatment method for medium size urolithiasis (10-20 mm) is not always easy. Extracorporal shockwave lithotripsy might create multiple large residual fragments, which might cause obstruction of the upper urinary tract. Flexible ureterorenoscopy might be a long, complicated procedure with the risk of infectious complications. Percutaneous lithotripsy (PCNL) is very effective, but the use of standard size PCNL instruments (24-30 CH) might be too invasive and require prolonged hospitalisation. Mini-PCNL (16 CH) with the use of "Bernoulli" or "vacuum cleaner" effect for irrigation of fragments from the upper tract seems to be an excellent...

Major statement: US/MRI fusion transperineal prostate biopsy has comparable yield and lower risk of infectious complications than transrectal biopsy. Purpose: Nowadays, prostate biopsies performed transperineally are gaining prominence. In our cohort, we retrospectively evaluated the yield of transperineally performed biopsies and at the same time their safety, especially with regard to infectious complications. Patients and methods: From January 2019 to March 2020, we performed 208 fusion US/MRI guided prostate biopsies - transperineally. Magnetic resonance imaging was evaluated by the PI-RADS vs 2 and vs 2.1 scoring systems, respectively. In biopsy...

Novák K, Pešl M, Rudová P, Jahoda J, Jurka M, Červenková J, Krotilová D, Černý V, Chocholová S, Hanuš T. Correlation of CEUS (contrast-enhanced ultrasound) findings with final histopathology in patients undergoing laparoscopic nephron-sparing surgery. Aim of the study: The aim of the study is to compare CEUS findings with definitive histopathology in patients whose laparoscopic nephron sparing surgery (LNSS) was based on the CEUS result. Material and method: LNSS for kidney tumor was performed from 1/2019 to 10/2020 in 79 patients. In 14 (18 %) of them (11 men, 3 women, age 45-74) were indication based on CEUS finding. These examinations were performed...

Novák I, Broďák M. What can be recommended the testicular microlithiasis diagnosis in childhood. Introduction: Testicular microlithiasis (TM) is a rare disease in the pediatric population. A possible link with testicular tumors (TC) requires appropriate attention to the disease. The paper describes in multiple case reports our personal experiences with this disease. Materials and Methods: TM were found in 5 patients during screening ultrasound (USG) examination of the testes performed due to other pathologies of the scrotum (hydrocele, testicular retention, varicocele) or positivity in the family history of TC in the years 2010-2020. The age of the...

Weibl P, Ameli G, Krauter J, Hübner W. Secondary buried penis reconstruction with split‑thickness skin grafting after previous partial amputations for penile cancer – report of a case. Background: Surgical strategy of buried penis depends on the etiology and quality of affected and surrounding tissues, as well as overall anatomy of the external genitalia. Patients and methods: The authors describe the surgical principle of aquired buried penis reconstruction after previous partial amputations while using principles of split‑thickness skin grafting (STSG), prepubic lipectomy and scrotoplasty. A 65 yrs old patient after biopsy proven...
