Persistent Urinary Incontinence after the Artificial Sphincter Implantation AMS 800, a Double Cuff

Persistent or recurrent urinary incontinence after the placement of the artificial urinary sphincter (AUS) requires a systematic investigation to elucidate the exact etiology of failure. Placing the second cuff around the bulbous or membranous urethra doubles the surface area that is compressed, offering greater resistance to urine leakage without decreasing tissue perfusion. This technique represents an alternative to use of a smaller cuff or a higher pressure balloon.We used this approach in 25-year-old patient with neurogenic bladder and persistent urinary incontinence after the AUS implantation.

Our experiences with Prostaglandin E1 in treatment of erectile dysfunction

In the period from January 1,1996 to September 30,1997 we have treated 17 patients, suffering from erectile dysfunction by intracavernouse applications of prostaglandin E1. Our patients were men from various age groups and suffering from some other basic diseases in whom the previous peroral therapy by preparations Yohimbin, Afrodor 2000 and antidepresants were of no effects, or where with regard to vasculopathy and neuropathy a direct treatment was started by PGE1. We followed the effect of our therapy, the dose needed for reaching a good effect and side-effects.We have reached good effect in all patients, we have not found out any serious side-effects...
