Aim of our paper is definition of the place of BTA stát, BTA TRAK, UBC Rapid, UBC IRMA and cytology in superficial bladder tumour patients dispensation program.Reduction of the cystoscopy failing risk is main goal of extending dispensation program. This aim is the best accomplished by cytology with its 100 % specifity, and it is positive in all patients with tumour in situ.Another goal is reduction of number of cystoscopical control examination in case of negative result by one of the evaluated methods. Use of quantitative tests is more useful for this purpose in which is possible to reach high sensitivity by diminution of tresh-old value....

We describe 14 patients with distinctive tumor of the kidney retrieved from 4500 kidney tumors in our Tumor Registry SPAU. All cases were characterized by a composition of epithelial and stromal elements, which formed cystic and solid growth pattern. Eleven patients were females and in 3 patients the sex was unknown. Age range was 16-75 years (mean 55,5 years). All cases belong to the newly defined entity "mixed epithelial and stromal tumors of the kidney". A regular check-up of the patients with these tumors is a sufficient management of the patients and no additional adjunctive therapy is considered to be necessary, because malignant transformation...

Low-energy laser in Peyron disease therapy

A. Horák, J. Krhut, K. Mainer

Ces Urol 2001, 5(3):18-22 | DOI: 10.48095/cccu2001025

The authors have been treated 11 patients with Peyron disease by application of low-energy laser in September 2000. The age of men in the group with this diagnosis ranged between 28 - 61 years and they have been treated by oral or parenteral application into the plaque with no effect. They have evaluated the influence of laser therapy on pain, induration, deformation of penis and erectile dysfunction. Pain has disappeared in 100 % of the patients, objective diminishing of induration was found in 82 %, in 50 % correction of deformation was observed and in 67 % erectile dysfunction has been corrected with favourable effect lasting even 3 months after...

Ces Urol 2001, 5(3):23-25 | DOI: 10.48095/cccu2001026

The aim of study was evaluation of the antibiotic prophylaxis effectivity in trans-rectal biopsy of prostate. 102 patients with transrectal biopsy of prostate performed in 1999, suspected for prostate cancer, were evaluated. Antibiotic was administrated in the time as biopsy or exceptionally up to 30 minutes after. 90 patients (88,2 %) have received cotrimoxazol 960 mg twice a day, 6 patients (5,9 %) have received ciprofloxacin 250 mg twice a day and 6 patients (5,9 %) ofloxacin 200 mg twice a day. Therapy has lasted 5 days in non-complicated cases. Dysuric complaints has been detected in 15 (14,7 %) patients, fever over 38° C in 2 (2 %) cases and...

Pubovaginal sling - universal method of operational treatment of all stress incontinence types

K. Mainer, J. Krhut

Ces Urol 2001, 5(3):26-29 | DOI: 10.48095/cccu2001027

The authors report the experience of 60 women-patients treated by applying the method of the pubovaginal sling. They indicated this operation procedure at all types of the stress incontinency. During the observation (3 - 23 months) they achieved a success at 58 (96,7 %) patients. On the basis of a questionnaire the effect was evaluated as a success by 54 (90 %) patients, as no effect by 2 (3 %) patients and as a deterioration by 4 (7 %) patients. A positive effect on the urgent component in case of a mixed incontinency was noticed by 22 patients out of 40 (55 %), urgency de novo appeared at 4 (7 %) patients. In 4 (7 %) cases there after the operation...

Ces Urol 2001, 5(3):30-34 | DOI: 10.48095/cccu2001028

The authors evaluate personal clinical experiences with ureterointestinal anastomosis in continent urine derivation into colon and they compare their results with others. They analyze retrospectively 39 patients (78 ureterorenal units) who underwent continent urine derivation. Urine derivation by simple ureterosigmoideostomy without intestinal segment detubularization was performed by 21 out of 39 (53,8 %) patients and by 18 out of 39 (46,2 %) urine derivation by sigmoideorectal pouch - Mainz pouch II. It has been statistically proved significantly (under 0,05) higher appearance of subsequent pyelonephritis and worsening renal funtion, higher number...

J. Marenčák, R. Moro, M. Jurica, T. Púllová

Ces Urol 2001, 5(3):35-39 | DOI: 10.48095/cccu2001029

The authors evaluate retrospectively their own clinical experience with diagnostics and therapy of the stenosis of ureterointestinal anastomosis in 19 patients (22 ureterorenal units) with different types of derivation of the urine. In 11 patients (11 ureterorenal units) they solve stenosis in ureterointestinal connection endoscopically and in 8 patients (11 uereterorenal units) they have used open procedure. Long term success has been reached endoscopically in 9 from 11 (81,8 %) patients. Endoscopical treatment has been a method of first and second choice in "benign" stenosis of uretrointestinal anastomosis. Internal ureteral drainage by silicon stent...

J. Novák, J. Stolz, M. Babjuk, T. Hanuš, L. Jarolím

Ces Urol 2001, 5(3):40-43 | DOI: 10.48095/cccu2001030

A group of 1498 patients with RCC was treated. From this group 86 patients were primarily generalized. For the treatment of primary advanced metastasis the treatment strategy was changed from conservative to an active approach. The basis for this approach is the removal of 75 % of the tumor mass, good condition of the patient, no metastatic site in CNS, bone and liver, and the primary tumour should not be a sarcoma. The new treatment strategy for patients with advanced RCC is a combination of surgery and chemoimmunotherapy as the standard treatment. 47 patients from our group were tretaed with combined INF alfa+ IL-2 + 5 FU + isotretinoin using the...

Case presentation of the patient who has been treated for cyptorchidism of left testicle in youth and operation of the groin was performed but testicle was not found and it was believed to be an "agenesis" of the left testicle.Sudden abdominal pain caused by large intraabdominal seminoma of the left retained testicle has occured in the age of 28 years. Retroperitoneal infradiaphragmatic lymphadenopathy has been present in the time of diagnosis. One time procedure of radical orchiectomy and radical modificated bilateral retroperitoneal lymfadenectomy was performed. After adjuvant chemotherapy the patient is in complete remission.From...

Probability correlation of lymphatic nodes involvement and substantial pathological finding in patients with radical prostatectomy

V. Vít, D. Pacík, Z. Beran

Ces Urol 2001, 5(3):48-50 | DOI: 10.48095/cccu2001032

Patients with a disease localised only to prostate have the chance for the best terapeutical results among patients with prostatic carcinoma. From this point of view is diagnostics of the lymphatic node involvement very problematic because none of the imaging methods is able to give us required information. Use of the Partin's nomograms can be a clinical aid which makes indication possibilities much more accurate and simple. We have compared preoperative probability of lymphatic nodes involvement and substantial pathological finding in lymphatic nodes resected by "staging" lymphadenectomy by 70 patients with clinically localized prostate adenocarcinoma...

Urethral diverticulum in female is not very frequent disease however not properly diagnosed and treated can cause chronical disorders which bound and distress the women. The authors present 17 females surgically treated in Urological Department in Olomouc during last 5 years. There were 11 patients with diverticulum of distal urethra, 3 patients with diverticulum of medial urethra and 3 of them have had proximal urethral diverticulum. In 14 patients true diverticulum was found and in 3 cases it was pseudodiverticulum. Only unroofing of distal urethral diverticulum has been performed. There had been one reccurence which was solved by excision of the...
