Hora M, Trávníček I, Stránský P, Nykodýmová Š, Mlynarčík M, Ferda J, Kacerovská D, Hes O. VEILND (VideoEndoscopic Inguinal Lymph Node Dissection) in penile cancer ≥pT1G2 and cN0. Introduction: Invasive diagnosis is indicated in penile carcinoma ≥pT1G2 cN0 (palpable or controversially palpable non-tumorous inguinal nodes). Either a scintigraphically labelled sentinel node (DSLNB) biopsy with false negative risk over 10% or more accurate but more invasive modified inguinal lymphadenectomy (ILND), done usually as open surgery. In particular, modified ILND is indicated in associated risk factors (more aggressive histology, positive inguinal...

Ryšánková K, Gumulec J, Porzer M, Krhut J. Prevention of thromboembolic complications in urology. Our review provides an overview of the prevention of thromboembolic complications in urological surgery. We also deal with the rules of preventing this complication in patients using antiplatelet medication or anticoagulants. And in the last part, we mention the treatment of urinary tract bleeding in patients taking medication that affects coagulation, which is common urological practice.

Breza J ml, Fröhlich R, Žilinská Z,Breza J st. Urological complications after kidney transplantation. The aim of our work was to analyze urological complications after kidney transplantation at the Urology Department with the Center for Kidney Transplantation in Bratislava and to provide rational guidance for their effective solution. The authors analyzed complications in a group of 1353 renal transplant patients (of which 95 kidneys were retrieved from living donors). We focused on the occurrence, causes, diagnosis and treatment of complications that have a causal relationship to the reconstructed kidney transplant pathways because they are considered...

Ces Urol 2019, 23(3):194-202 | DOI: 10.48095/cccu2019044

Novák V, Veselý Š. PSA and its isoforms as modern markers of prostate cancer. The growing incidence of prostate cancer is a clear reason for further research in the field of diagnosis and treatment of this disease. There has been huge progress made in the treatment of localized disease, even bigger in the treatment of advanced stage of prostate cancer. However, day-to-day practice shows persistent shortcomings in diagnostic methods, especially the limited risk assessment of patients. Due to the current trends in prostate cancer treatment, it is apparent that it is not only necessary to distinguish patients who have or do not have prostate cancer, but...

Laparoscopic partical nephrectomy: a comprehensive evaluation of single-centre perioperative outcomes. Aim: Assessment of perioperative and oncological results of laparoscopic nephron-sparing procedures for renal tumors. Material a methods: We evaluate data from a prospectively collected database in one center between 1/2013 and 6/2018. Operations were performed by 3 surgeons. There were 174 patients available for final analysis. The cohort included also 1 one-stage bilateral case, 9 cases of multiple one-stage partial nephrectomy (PN)...

Mareš F, Broul M, Vlček S, Snížková O, Marečková J, Čegan M, Schraml J. Urothelial carcinoma of right renal pelvis and left distal urether. Authors present a case of a 66 years old patient with bilateral malignant disease of urinary tract. They point out the possibility of nephron sparing surgery instead of bilateral nephroureterectomy that would expose the patient to necessity of dialysis for the rest of his life.

Ces Urol 2019, 23(3):243-249 | DOI: 10.48095/cccu2019034

Macek P, Zámečník L, Hanuš T. Limits of nephron sparing surgery in renal tumors - tenfold partial nephrectomy in solitary kidney. Multifocal renal tumors are not frequent, but they do not need to lead to nephrectomy automatically. We present a case of a 60-year old male with right solitary kidney (left sided nephrectomy for renal cancer), who has had a CT diagnosis of 10 areas on the kidney with solid renal masses (but some included more lesions). Following an extensive discussion about possible options and the risks of surgical management, a 10-fold open partial nephrectomy was carried out. The largest tumor was resected first under cold ischemia...

Dukatova K, Zachoval R, Jarabak J, Otavova K. Bilateral kidney tumour as an incidental finding during ultrasound examination in an 82-year-old patient with urinary retention. Bilateral renal cell carcinoma as an incidental finding during ultrasonography examination of an 82year old man with urinary retention. We emphasize the importance of ultrasound examination of the kidneys also in the examination of acute urological conditions related to other organs and we present the possibility of radical surgical treatment even in elderly patients who are in good biological condition.
