We present a case report of primary amyloidosis of ureter AL type, a rare type of the diseases. The disease has led to the hydronephrosis and oligofunction of the kidney. The diagnosis was histologically determined until after nephrectomy. The histological demonstration of amyloid is essential for diagnosis. Conservative operation is possible only if the diagnosis is set before or during the operation. We should think on the amyloidosis of the ureter in the case of the occurrence of calcification in the wall of the ureter or renal pelvis on CT scans.
