In the years 1987 - 1991 we performed in FN Motol radical nephrectomy of 68 patients with renal cell carcinoma. Five years survival in dependens of staging and grading we noted of the group of 59 patients without the tumor generalisation (five years survival 64,1 % - 59/39). In the group pT1 was five years survival 100 % (3/3), pT2 80,8 % (26/21), pT3a 52,4 % (21/11), and pT3b 44,4 % (9/4). All the differences was statistically important. The difference between the group pT1 + pT2 and the group pT3a + pT3b was very important (p = 0,008). There is no influence of the tumor progression of a renal vein for five years survival. In the years 1982 -1991 was operated in the FN Motol 122 patients with RCC. Pre-operative embolisation of renal artery we performed in 62 cases, regional lym-phadenectomy in 50 cases. Five years survival we evaluated in the group of 96 patients after nephrectomy without generalisation of the tumor. Out of the group was five years survival 64,6 %. In the group without lymphadenectomy (L-) and without embolisation (E-) was five years survival 68,2 % (22/15), in the group L+ E-was 66,7 % (12/8), in the group L+ E+ 65,8 % (38/25) and in the group L- E+ 58,3 % (24/14).
