The authors present a relatively rare case of a 30-year old woman patient who was exami-nated for a left side renal colic. On the basis of the medical examination, a tumor of the left kidney, size of 3 cm had been diagnosed and the patient underwent a left side nephrectomy with regard to significant scary perinehritic changes as well as adrenalectomy. A yellow tumor on the section was perceptible. The pathologist described it as a very rare type of kidney inflammation - focal xantogranulomathic pyelonephritis. The authors point out at a possible occurance of this rare kidney inflammation, which should be considered while finding a tumours kidney expansion...

In casuistic report the authors describe an unusual case of the affection of both adrenals with feochromocytoma with concurrent extraadrenal localization. Three carcinomas were found at 26 years old woman during the detection of possible cause of secondary hypertension. In anamnesis there was found positive familiar load with occurrence of feochromocytoma at the father and uncle. The finding was indicated to operational solution i.e. bilateral adrenalectomy and exstirpation of extraadrenal tumour. Conclusion: operational therapy led to the removal of feochromocytoma without residuum and arterial hypertension vanished. Nowadays, 10 months after the...

Most of renal tumours (renal cell carcinomas and oncocytoma) arise from epithelium of renal tubules. Angiomyolipoma of kidney is only one most frequent mesenchymal tumour. There are known leiomyomas from case reports. Ultrasonography revealed incidentally tumour of right kidney in 67-year-old woman with histologically verified myeloproliferative syndrome was incidentally found. CT verified tumour of upper pole of the right kidney 36 mm in maximal diameter, well encapsulated, slightly non-homogenous with density 38 HLJ. Density increased to 79 -115 HLJ after contrast fluid application. Resection of tumour through lumbotomy was performed. Tumour...

The purpose of the work was to evaluate the influence of the use of fluorescence cytoscopy (FC) during transurethral resection (TUR) on the rate of recurrences of external urothelial urinary bladder carcinomas. The patients were randomized into two groups. In the first group the TUR was made in a standard way, while in the second one it was made under the control of FC. The patients were further monitored in standard way, evaluating the rate of recurrences. From September 2001 to September 2003 there were 99 patients involved in total, 49 of them to the first group and 50 to the second group. At the first control cystoscopy the positive finding was...

Ces Urol 2004, 8(3):17-20 | DOI: 10.48095/cccu2004015
Nowadays, kidney carcinomas still represent the topical tissue. Despite the reported rate about 3% of the total number of malignant diseases, recently there is recorded a significant increase of the incidence of the disease. The absolute majority of them represent renal carcinomas, in the clinical practice it is necessary to consider also less frequent forms of renal tumours as e.g. angiomyolipomas (hemartomas). Renal angiomyolipoma is ranged to benign carcinomas, its incidence is reported 0,3 - 3% of explored renal carcinomas. The main diagnostic method is considered CT examination, which evaluates above all the presence of fat tissue, bloodvessels...

Ces Urol 2004, 8(3):21-25 | DOI: 10.48095/cccu2004016
The object of our study is to evaluate the prognostic significance of microvascular density and the p53 nuclear accumulation. In the set of this prospected study there were involved 61 patients with superficial urothelial urinary bladder cancer. The samples were withdrawn from the patients and CD34 was immunohistochemically proved there. Such coloured preparations were evaluated in the image analysis system LUCIA. The features observed were the average relative vascular area on 1/12 mm2 and the maximal relative vascular area on 1/12 mm2 The P53 protein was detected by means of monoclonal antibody DO-1. McCarty's semi-quantitative method was used for...

Ces Urol 2004, 8(3):27-29 | DOI: 10.48095/cccu2004017
The objective of the work was to determine the catch of the prostate cancer (PCa) at the patients with large - volume prostate above 50 g. From April 1999 to March 2003 there were performed 1046 modified transrectal biopsies of prostate (TRUS-Bx) at the patients with PSA under 100 ng/ml. We analysed 363 biopsies at 320 patients with the prostate volume above 50 g According to the modified schema there were sampled 6 samples of peripheral zone (PZ) and 4 samples of transition zone (TZ). The set was divided according to the volume of prostate into the groups of 10 g (at the prostates of 51 - 100g) and further above 100 g. From the results it is evident...

The study aims at evaluation of results obtained by the ESWL treatment of urolithiasis with Piesolith 3000. It concentrates on the efficacy (stone free after treatment), safety and economy of the treatment. Authors carried out 1 444 ESWL operations in 1 118 patients during a period of two years. In all cases the Piesolith 3000 was used. 72.4 % patients remained stone free after a 3-month period. Another ESWL was needed in 28.7 % of patients. The operations proved to be safe, noiseless and of a sufficient pulverisation effectiveness. Concurrantly the cystin stones were pulverized. There was a very low incidence of complication. Only in 3 patients, i.e....

Ces Urol 2004, 8(3):46-48 | DOI: 10.48095/cccu2004021
The concrement disintegration in the ureter at ESWL is influenced by the type and the characteristic of the device used (especially by the type of the impacting wave and the type of the concrement localization), by the total energy applied during the therapy and the frequency of the impacting waves. However, the concrement composition and the presence of the stent are also of a great influence. To evaluate the influence of the stent on the effectiveness of extracorporal lithotripsy in the ureter there an in vitro experiment has been designed. In the group without the stent the relative weight loss of the standard model of artificial concrement was...

Ces Urol 2004, 8(3):54-56 | DOI: 10.48095/cccu2004023
The kidney shot injuries are counted among open injuries that are often connected with thoracic cavity organs injuries or intra-abdominal organs injuries (in 80 %). In clinical picture then dominate either abdominal or thoracic injuries symptoms. The extent of the kidney injuries is varied, from minor renal injuries to so-called major renal injuries. Overall injury repercussions depend on many factors, especially on force of penetration, nature, penetration and injureability of projectile. At this peaceful period let us present rather peculiar kidney shot injury.
