Hora M, Stránský P, Eret V, Procházková K, Pitra T, Kouba J, Dolejšová O. Laparoscopic ureteral reimplantation - video. Introduction: Reimplantation of the ureter is relatively rare surgery and even in paediatric urology. The standard procedure is open access. Expanding experience with laparoscopy including robotically assisted allows minimally invasive performance. We present our first experience with laparoscopic reimplantation. Material: From 3/2014 to 6/2015 laparoscopic reimplantation was performed four times. Twice as a part of laparoscopic diverticulectomy of urinary bladder (once along with photoselective vaporization of the prostate,...

Balík M, Košina J, Špaček J, Vachata S, Pacovský J, Hušek P, Holub L, Broďák M. Laparoscopic radical cystectomy - video 2015. Goals: Minimally invasive approaches in oncological surgery are associated with less morbidity without compromising oncological results. We present our video from a laparoscopic radical cystectomy in a male patient. Methods: We start procedure in Trendelenburg position creating capnoperitoneum by Veres needle through small incision above umbilicus. We use umbilical camera port, 1 x 10 mm and 3 x 5 mm working ports around the line between umbilicus and iliac spine. We start with pelvic lymph node dissection...

Čermák M, Kočárek J, Heráček J. Robot assisted performances in andrology. In four years, it will be exactly 100 years since Karel Čapek used the word 'robot' in his famous drama, R.U.R. for the first time. In this period of time this bare abstrakt idea became widely used in various industries. We consider 1999 as a milestone for using a robot in human medicine, when the first robot-assisted operation was performed using daVinci system by the American company, Intuitive Surgical. The first robot-assisted surgery in Urology, a radical prostatectomy, was compleated in 2000. The undisputed advantages of the robotic platform are elimination...

Nephroblastoma (Wilms tumor - WT) is the most common solid renal tumor in children. The patients are treated according to SIOP 2001 protocol. This protocol recommends pre-operative chemotherapy, nephrectomy and postoperative treatment. Blastemal and anaplastic histological subtypes are poor prognostic factors. It is a well treatable disease, with up to 90 % of patients cured.

Zerhau P, Mackerle Z, Husár M, Sochůrková D, Brichtová E, Göpfert E, Faldyna M. Arteficial somato-CNS-autonomic micturition reflex - experimental verification. Major statement: Results of experimental creation of somato-CNS-autonomic reflex and verification of its influence on lower urinary tract function in rabbits. Specifically the possibility of induction of the arteficial micturition reflex, applicable in patients with neurogenic bladder. Purpose: Intradural somato-CNS-autonomic anastomosis remains an insufficiently verified neurogenic bladder treatment method. Specifically, possible detrusor-sphincter synergy during artificial stimulation...

Introduction: The Czech Urological Society (ČUS) tried to map the number of key urological surgical procedures performed in the Czech Republic. The aim of the study is better planning of urological care in the Czech Republic. Methods: ČUS selected key surgical procedures, which were found by National Health Information System (NHIS) in the Czech Repbulic. Possible misinterpretations of these numbers include: reporting in individual hospitals; it is the...

Míka D, Havránek O, Němec D, Sýkora R, Luňáček L, Krhut J. Early postoperative complications after radical cystectomy with orthotopic bladder substitution. Aim: The use of standardized methods assessing perioperative complications after a radical cystectomy is necessary for objective evaluation of the morbidity associated with surgery. The Clavien-Dindo classification is nowadays widely used to assess the degree of complications. Material and method: We evaluated retrospectively a set of 18 consecutive patients, who underwent radical cystectomy with orthotopic bladder Mansoura pouch substitution between 2010 and 2012. We classified the...

Ciesar Lahová Ľ, Kopecký J, Zahradnik M. The consequences of penile subcutaneous applications of the foreign materials. Men have always experimented with the enlarging of their penises. Even nowadays some men inject fluid or semifluid materials into the subcutaneous tissue of the penis for penile augmentation. Vaseline, paraffin and other materials are used. In our case report we present two patients who injected boric unguent into the subcutaneous tissue of the penis with subsequent abscess formation resulting in the need for repeated surgery.
