Kašík M, Fedorko M. Prognostic factors of renal cell carcinoma. Renal cell carcinoma is a very common tumour with slightly increasing both incidence and prevalence. Our role is in early detection of the disease and selecting the most optimal treatment option and surveillance after therapy. There are several prognostic factors and prognostic models that allow risk stratification. These tools provide information for treatment planning and patient counselling. The review summarizes the most commonly used prognostic factors of renal cell carcinoma with a focus on prognostic biomarkers.

Zachoval R. Evolution of endoscopic prostate enucleation. In this paper the evolution of endoscopic prostate enucleation is reviewed in chronological order based on energy technology starting first with holmium laser, then bipolar electrocautery, following by thulium laser and finally greenlight laser enucleation of the prostate.

Veselý Š. Bipolar Transurethral enucleation of the prostate. Obstruction caused by benign prostatic hyperplasia can be treated by several surgical techniques. Especially for larger prostates, alternatives to open surgery and conventional transurethral resection are sought, as these methods are associated with significant morbidity and often require blood transfusions. In recent years, there has been development in enucleation techniques using lasers or bipolar energy. This text summarizes the latest findings and experiences with bipolar transurethral enucleation of the prostate (B-TUEP) and compares this method with other surgical procedures.

Novák I., Kuliaček P., Svobodová Z., Ryška A., Stejskal V. Foreskin cysts in children. The authors present a retrospective clinical group analysis of 6 boys with foreskin cysts. They were operated on in our department in 2017–2022. The boys` age was 2–11 years (median 5 years) at the time of diagnosis. All boys underwent excision of a foreskin cystic lesion measuring 5–22 mm (median 6.5 mm). Histological examination of the excised tissue confirmed several benign cysts in all cases (2× mucoid cysts with cylindrical epithelium, or cuboidal epithelium, 2× epidermoid cysts, 2× simple cysts with cylindrical, or transitional...

Broul M, Radovnická L, Schraml J, Hlavička M, Falion M, Cihlář F, Zámečník L. Testosterone replacement therapy in a patient with synchronous tumors including prostate cancer and hypogonadism after bilateral orchiectomy. We present a case report of a patient who visited a physician because of chronic testicular pain. During the investigation, he was found to have two synchronous tumors - carcinoma of the kidney and prostate. Both tumors were successfully removed. He had to undergo a bilateral orchiectomy in the follow-up due to a suspicious finding in his testicles. For secondary hypogonadism, we started testosterone replacement therapy after discussion...

Markušová J, Varga G, Múčková K, Fedorko M. Partial glans resurfacing for HPV associated penile intraepithelial neoplasia in a 40 year old male. We present a case report of a 40 year old patient presenting with lession on glans penis. First biopsy histologically confirmed penile intraepithelial neoplasia (PeIN) associated with HPV p16. Local treatment with 5-fluorouracil provided by dermatologist was ineffective and another biopsy of glans penis again confirmed persistence of PeIN. The patient underwent a circumcision and partial glans resufacing using a buccal graft with favourable aesthetical and functional outcome.
