The concrement disintegration in the ureter at ESWL is influenced by the type and the characteristic of the device used (especially by the type of the impacting wave and the type of the concrement localization), by the total energy applied during the therapy and the frequency of the impacting waves. However, the concrement composition and the presence of the stent are also of a great influence. To evaluate the influence of the stent on the effectiveness of extracorporal lithotripsy in the ureter there an in vitro experiment has been designed. In the group without the stent the relative weight loss of the standard model of artificial concrement was 72,465 %, in the group with the stent it was 63,674 % (p < 0,05). The experiment performed proves the negative influence of the introduced stent on the concrement disintegration in the ureter.
